| To encourage biodiversity you should not use pesticides or herbicides. These chemicals will kill butterflies, bees and the beneficial bugs that act as natural predators in your garden. Of all the insects in the world, only 2 percent are considered real pests. When we use pesticides we harm all the bugs not just the ones we wanted to get rid of. A balanced garden has prey and predators. If you have used pesticides in the past it will take some time for the predators to come back. Some garden centres sell predator insects to quickly get your garden back in balance. |
